Lithotripsy
Lithotripsy treatment uses harmless high-frequency
shock waves to break kidney stones into tiny, sand-like
fragments without damaging surrounding tissue. As acoustical
shock waves are precisely directed at the kidney stone,
they gradually disintegrate it, without pain, until
the particles are small enough to pass out of the body
during normal urination.
It is a safer, less painful procedure as there is no
surgical incision. So, it is less complicated and the
risk of infection is decreased. Because Lithotripsy
significantly shortens your hospital stay and recovery
time is greatly reduced, you can return to work or your
normal daily activities soon after treatment, usually
in less than three days.
