"In the pursuit of excellence, we
dedicate ourselves
to providing quality health services
in a caring manner."
Welcome
to Ottumwa Regional Health Center. The information on
our Website is an overview of the many programs and
services we offer.
Ottumwa Regional Health Center is an independent, private,
not-for-profit organization governed by a community
Board of Directors. We are committed to providing quality
health care services to the people of Southeast Iowa
and Northeast Missouri. We offer state of the art technology
and a highly skilled staff of physicians, medical professionals
and support staff that are here to serve you.
Local ownership and voluntary governance help insure
that we are responsive to the needs of the communities
we serve. We also are affiliated with both the Iowa
Health System in Des Moines and the University of Iowa
Health System in Iowa City. These affiliations help
us bring an array of specialty care to those we serve.
ORHC serves as a regional hub for our eight county
service area. Working in partnership with surrounding
community hospitals, and our affiliate partners in Des
Moines and Iowa City, we are striving to develop a seamless
system of care for patients and their families. Over
70 physicians and 950 employee associates are here,
ready to care for you and your family. We are committed
to providing the highest quality of care possible, at
a responsible cost, in a caring and compassionate manner.
We hope this web site is informative and we welcome
your questions or comments. You can communicate with
us directly through our feedback page. We look forward
to the privilege of serving you!

Over 100 Years of Caring
Ottumwa
Regional Health Center began as the Ottumwa Hospital
Association in 1892 and admitted its first patient in
1894. It has provided general acute care hospital service
from its Pennsylvania site since 1952. The Health Center,
now located in two facilities licensed for 217 beds,
offers secondary level health care to residents in Wapello
County and the seven surrounding counties.
Currently, Ottumwa Regional Health Center employs over
950 associates and is one of the largest employers in
Ottumwa. ORHC places an increasing emphasis on relationships
with neighboring community hospitals, physicians, and
agencies who depend on providers in Ottumwa for specialty
care. Further, ORHC strives to improve the quality of
human health through local and regional collaboration
at the lowest responsible cost.
